Work

I've been working part time at night for a store called Gordmans since February but my old boss offered me an opportunity to come back to work at the insurance agency but I will be able to work from home with flexible hours.  I will just be writing business and not doing any of the servicing that I did before I had Kael.  This week will be the first week of quoting insurance since I left in November and I'm pretty excited about it.  If anyone would like an insurance quote let me know and I will be glad to help. 

Kael 4 Months

Kael is already 4 months (actually he is 4.5 months).  I can't believe how fast this is going!!!  At his four month appointment Kael weighed 16.2lbs (77%), height 25.5 inches (75%) and I can't remember how big his head was but it was only in the 50%.  Here are some things about Kael:
He loves to sucks on his hands and prefers that over his pacifier.
When he does suck on his pacifier he likes to put his bottom lip over the bottom of the pacifier.  It's really funny.  I will post a pic of it.
He loves to suck on his lips.  It's hard to explain but he will suck on his top lip or his bottom lip.
He loves the dogs.  Every time they are within his sight he just stares at them and tries to reach out and touch them.
He can now roll from his front to back and is really close rolling from back to front.
He likes to make spit bubbles and will stick out his tongue and spit.
HE LOVES TO JUMP!  Since we got him a jumper that's all he wants to do.  My arms get real tired...
He loves his baths and likes to play with the water. 
I've started giving him baby food since the dr said it was ok and Kael isn't quite sure if he likes it or not.  I started with giving him carrots and the first time I put some in his mouth he just sat there with his mouth open with a disgusted look on his face like what am I supposed to do with this.  It was so funny. 
He's such a happy baby and loves to laugh and smile. 
He loves to look at books.
He likes to suck on fabric.  If you have a long sleeved shirt on and get within his reach he will grab your sleeve and suck on it.  He likes to suck on his blankets or his stuffed toys. 
Most of the time he will sleep through the nights but every once and a while he will wake up in the middle of the night because he's hungry.  I can't believe how much this kid eats.
He's a supported sitter and loves to sit up.

3 Months

Kael is three months this weekend!  I can't believe how fast time went by.  Here are some things about Kael:
He weighs 14 lbs (at least that's what he weighed a couple of weeks ago)
I'm not sure how long he is cause we haven't measured since his 2 month appointment
He loves to smile and loves when you talk to him
He loves to suck on his fist and he is ready to eat real food.  He watchs us when we eat and stares at our food while he drools
He's going to be a drooler
He is starting to laugh.  The only time I can get him to laugh so far is when I do raspberries on his stomach.
He reaches for everything and loves to hold on to everything.
He constantly wants to stand so I borrowed a bouncer from my SIL and he loves it.  He hasn't quite figured out the bounching but he loves to push off like he's on a swing.
When he sits on my lap he wants to be facing out so he can see what is going on.  I guess he is tired of staring at my face all day. 
He eats SO MUCH and I can't wait until I can start him on rice cereal.
He is wearing his 3 month clothes but he is quickly growing out of those. 

That's all I can think of but we love our little guy!

Kael's Blessing

We had Kael's blessing on Saturday Feb 23 at our house.  It was amazing and I'm so glad that all of our family could be there to share that special moment with us.  Here are some pictures from the event:

China

I know this is a little late but on Feb 15 it had been 8 years since we left for China.  It was an amazing adventure involving eating foods that still to this day I have no idea what it was, traveling and seeing some amazing places, touching stranger's arm as they pass by, seeing some of the most disgusting bathrooms in my life, hiking 3 miles of stairs at the Yellow Mountains.  It was an amazing adventure that I will never forget and I hope that one day I can go back with my family.

2 months

Kael is two months now (well a little older then two months).  He smiles a ton now and is starting to laugh a little.  He is starting to notice the TV and will watch Declan and I when we move around the room.  He is drooling a ton and likes to suck on his fist.  He wants to eat all the time and is getting huge.  He  weighed 12.6 lbs at his two week appointment and a week later when we weighed him he weighed 13.8 lbs.  He was 24.5 inches long at his appt.  He sleeps 3 or 4 hours at night and then wakes up to eat and then sleeps another 2 or 3 hours after that.  Here are some pictures that were taken recently.
